"La gente esta muy loca" - that song comes to mind when I think about partying in Spain. Obviously, many would expect the party to be in Madrid, Barcelona and of course Ibiza but there is a gem of a city in the south of Spain that is by far our favourite; Marbella.
In Spanish, Marbella translates to "beautiful sea". How could it not when it's placed along the sun coast of Spain where it receives over 300 days of sunshine a year. Not only does it offer beautiful beaches, ambiance and restaurants but the night life opens up a new level. We've compiled a short but straight to the point list of the best nightlife hot spots in Marbella where you'll find a large mix of rich Brits and locals mingling the night away.
Ocean Club Marbella Not necessarily an "after dark" location but it's one heck of party here everyday. Whether you prefer to lounge on the day beds with a glass of champagne of be the life of the party champagne showering everyone around you, Ocean Club has room for both. Hungry? No worries, you can take a break from the pool party for a luxurious lunch or dinner followed by some shisha to wind down the day. Be sure to make your reservations way ahead thought, daybeds by the pool begin to fill up as early as January for the season.
The epithamy of excess, beautiful dresses and flashy suits. Cavalli is the ultimate playground for the rich, famous and notorious where the party doesn't get started until after 1am and ends usually after the sun has risen. Go during the high season and you will most likely witness one of the biggest performers in the world doing a cool intimate show while the rest of us drink too much champagne.
Not a nightclub kinda person? No worries, Marbella has something for everyone. Head over to the Puente Romano Resort where you'll find a handful of top notch restaurants and lounges. Our favourite was UNI; a contemporary Japanese supper lounge serving up quality Japanese delicacies. Not ready to leave after dinner? Hang out in the lounge area on the patio, flirt with the locals and take in the spanish nightlife.
